HDFS 386 Family Ethnicity & Human Services

This course introduces students to the main cultural values, life cycle transitions and patterns of family interaction found among the most predominate American ethnic/racial minority groups in the United States. Special attention will be given to the understanding of racism, acculturation, social privilege and ethnic identity development, as well as the role that cultural sensitivity and competency plays in the assessment and delivery of human services. Meets QuEST Pluralism requirement.
