MAP 120 Medical Assisting Billing and Coding

This course is designed to allow the student to gain a comprehensive introduction to basic bookkeeping, banking procedures, check handling, collections, managed care, insurance, proper billing, and coding utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding systems. The student will learn the basics of filing insurance, basic accounting, maintaining, and operating basic office equipment; to include computerized medical office software. The student will utilize proper medical terminology throughout the course.
