AER0865 ICE Engine Performance (CCP)

Prerequisite: AER0864 (with a grade of C or higher) Corequisites: VPI0100, VPI0200, VPI0300

This course provides students with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in diagnosing and evaluating internal combustion engine performance and related systems. Students will learn to determine engine operational status by distinguishing between crank and run modes, retrieve and interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and identify necessary repairs. The course also explores modern start/stop strategies designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. Additionally, students will assess exhaust system components to ensure compliance with emissions regulations and optimal engine performance.
