CEP 411 Formal & Non-formal Educational Models
This course will give a broad overview of local, state, national, and international educational models in formal (school, universities), as well as non-formal/community (museum, theatre) education. This course will concentrate on the present return of non-formal/community education models and their demand. A special focus will be placed on 1) differences/similarities & advantages/disadvantages of the two educational approaches, 2) history of non-formal/community education, and 3) lifelong learning. This course includes field-experience(s) in local community and/or community-based settings. Students are responsible for their own transportation.
