EP 456 Cardiac Rehabilitation Lab

This is an EKG lab. The focus of this course is on EKG interpretation. Emphasis is placed on 12-lead and 3-lead EKG set up, interpretation of heart cycle waves, complexes and segments during rest and exercise. Heart rate, rhythm, axis, hypertrophy, and infarction will be assessed along with various EKG tracings in order to identify various arrhythmias, blocks, syndromes, etc. Corresponding exercise prescription will be part of the educational experience. Prerequisite: PE 345 or EP 325/326, and EP 448 and 449. Must be taken concurrently with EP 454. A grade of "C" is required or better is required.
