EDSP 303 Disablity and Society

This course presents an overview of disability in the United States focusing on issues arising out of the pluralism of disability by race, ethnicity, gender and socio-economic status. The course engages students in the study of the most prevalent types of disability, current societal views, attitudes and perceptions on disability, the effects of inequality, prejudice and discrimination on individuals with disability and a framework for understanding God's perspective on disability that leads them to develop a proper Christian worldview regarding individuals and disability. Meets General Education pluralism requirement.
