Overview
The Certificate in Healthcare Management is a for-credit program designed for working professionals who want to advance their healthcare professional knowledge, skills, and management abilities. The Certificate in Healthcare Management a career focused curriculum that is delivered entirely online. Credits earned in the Certificate in Healthcare Management can be applied to the College’s Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration Program. The Certificate in Healthcare Management provide students with foundational knowledge and skills essential for today’s healthcare manager.

A student that completes the Healthcare Management Credit Certificate program will be able to:
- Explain the organizational and operational principles of the U.S. healthcare system.
- Apply the standard principles of leadership, communication, and organizational culture within a healthcare environment.
- Describe the essential fiscal drivers necessary for value creation within healthcare organizations.
- Employ best practices required to support, develop, and motivate a healthcare workforce.
Admission Requirements
General College Admission Requirements
The following are Mercy College of Ohio admissions requirements. Admission to the College does not guarantee admission to a program. Admission requirements are subject to change. Students should contact the Office of Admissions or consult mercycollege.edu for the most up-to-date information.
One of the following are required for admission to Mercy College of Ohio:
- An earned diploma from an accredited high school or a home-schooled program in a college preparatory course of study with a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher, OR
- A general equivalence diploma (GED) recipient with a score of 500 (score of 53 prior to 2002).
- Additional documentation may be required for College Credit Plus or Non-degree Seeking Students.
Healthcare Management Certificate Admission Requirements
In addition to meeting college admission requirements above, the following Healthcare Management Certificate Program admission requirements must be met:
- A student must have an associate or bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.3 from an institution that is approved/accredited by a historically regional accreditor.
