Clinical Facilities

Students in clinical experiences at hospitals or other healthcare facilities must follow all policies and procedures of those institutions. Specific information concerning policies and procedures can be obtained from the clinical instructor/preceptor or the clinical site.

Computer Labs

Three computer laboratories are available and are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Madison and on the 6th floor of Jefferson. Student computers are also available throughout the College and are located in the student lounges, library, and study rooms. The Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and College email are available in these settings, along with Wi-Fi capability for personal devices.  Printer access is also available. Software programs are also available for testing and evaluation.

Program Handbooks

Program Handbooks are available online or from the Program Director/Lead of each program and contain additional policies and procedures specific to each program.

Science and Clinical Laboratories

Biology and Chemistry

Five laboratories containing high-quality equipment and an environment conducive to student learning are available for Science instruction. All five Science labs are located on the 3rd floor of the Jefferson building, and include a lab dedicated for Chemistry, and one dedicated for Microbiology. An Anatomage Table is available for Anatomy & Physiology instruction. [The Anatomage Table is the most technologically advanced anatomy visualization system on the market. It is both a virtual library of human and animal cadavers, as well as a clinical diagnostic tool by visualization of any Medical CT, CBCT, or MRI scan.]

EMT/Paramedic

Located in Madison M1512, this space is utilized to train individuals in the proper techniques and skills of emergency medical services.

Nursing Skills Lab

The Nursing Skills Lab is a safe learning environment that emulates a clinical environment.  Students utilize task trainers and the same equipment found in Bon Secours Mercy Health Hospitals to develop competency in nursing skills. The Nursing Skills Lab is located on the 3rd floor of Jefferson (J3101), at the bottom of the ramp to the Madison building. Initial clinical/lab teaching and skills check offs are conducted in private areas throughout the Jefferson and Madison buildings. 

Physician Assistant Studies

General laboratory space for Physician Assistant (PA) education is located at the Toledo campus on the 6th floor of the Madison building, which includes space for an Anatomage Table and various anatomical reference models for learning gross anatomy. In a dedicated PA Program teaching suite, a full physical assessment laboratory can convert for teaching clinical skills. A suite of outpatient exam rooms for learning and evaluation are located at on the 4th floor of Madison. The physical assessment lab and outpatient suite both feature monitoring and recording equipment.

Polysomnographic Technology

Located in Jefferson J3302, this space is utilized to train individuals in the proper techniques and skills of polysomnographic technology.

Simulation Center

The Mercy College Simulation Center utilizes cutting edge technology to provide a safe and realistic learning environment for healthcare students. The simulation program focuses on developing competent, high-performing interdisciplinary teams. Low and moderate fidelity equipment is used to support skill attainment. Students use high fidelity equipment to demonstrate fundamental and advanced clinical skills with a goal of strengthen communication, clinical judgment, and clinical performance. There are five simulation rooms with diverse high-fidelity simulators across the lifespan: infant, pediatric, labor and delivery, and adult populations. The Mercy College Simulation Center is located on the 2nd floor of the Jefferson building in rooms SIM1, SIM2, SIM3, SIM4, and SIM5.
