Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society (Gamma Delta Chapter)

The Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society recognizes the academic excellence of students in the study of Associate Degree Nursing. This society encourages the pursuit of advanced degrees in the profession of nursing as well as continuing education as a lifelong professional responsibility. Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa was founded in 1918 and is the official honor society for two-year college programs. Phi Theta Kappa is now an international organization and the largest honor society in U.S. higher education. The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. Mercy College chartered the Beta Pi Xi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in 2008. Sigma Theta Tau

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) recognizes the academic excellence of students in a Bachelor’s or Graduate nursing program. This community of nurses is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, teaching, learning, and service through the cultivation of communities of practice, education, and research.  Locally, the Zeta Theta-at-Large Chapter, founded in 1982, includes Mercy College of Ohio, Bowling Green State University, The University of Toledo, Ohio Northern University, and Lourdes University.

Membership Requirements

Undergraduate Students:

  • Are enrolled in a bachelor’s nursing program or equivalent
  • Achieve academic excellence based on set criteria *
  • Are ranked in the highest 35 percent of their nursing class
  • Have completed one-half of the nursing curriculum
  • RN to BSN students must have completed 12 credit hours

Graduate Students:

  • Have completed one-fourth of the nursing curriculum
  • Achieve academic excellence based on set criteria *
  • Meet the expectation of academic integrity

Dues

The annual membership fee, which is set by the national organization, is approximately $103. Please note that this amount may change from year to year.
