Service/Emotional Support Animal/Pet Policy

Mercy College of Ohio (“College”) supports the use of service animals and emotional support animals on campus by individuals with disabilities and in appropriate circumstances in accordance with this policy.  This policy provides guidelines for the presence of service animals, emotional support animals, and pets on College property.  It is designed to fulfill the College’s mission statement and meet the requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).

This policy applies to all College-controlled properties.

The College categorizes animals into three classifications: service animals, emotional support animals, and pets. Guidelines regarding each of these classifications are outlined below.
