MUS 132 Jazz Appreciation
An introductory course in music that explores the history and tradition of American jazz music. Areas of focus in this listening-based course include the characteristics of jazz music, significant jazz performers and significant jazz compositions. Special attention will be paid to the African American and Creole roots of jazz to present a multicultural viewpoint of the art form.
