Mission

The College of Liberal and Creative Arts is the dynamic heart of West Liberty University where students can choose among many high quality arts, social science, humanities and professional majors. In CoLCA, students will also find an inclusive and engaging community providing general education courses that prepare all graduates to be rational, creative, and well-informed global citizens, ready for success in their careers or in advanced academic studies.

Vision

To accomplish our mission, we deliver courses and curricula that provide students the opportunity to develop:

• the ability to read and think critically

• effective written communication skills

• an understanding of the structures and functions of society

We will also:

• provide contemporary, discipline-specific skills in liberal and creative arts programs

• promote appreciation for diversity and the ability to understand and value multiple perspectives

• promote the skills to help produce knowledge through collaboration with the scholarly activities of our faculty.
