Regents Bachelor of Arts (RBA)

West Liberty, in association with the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, grants the Regents’ Bachelor of Arts Degree (RBA). The RBA Degree is a designed for students who may have had some college and are interested in obtaining a bachelor’s degree.

The RBA program is a high-quality academic program with online courses and allows more flexibility in the degree completion process than the more conventional baccalaureate degree programs. It is also possible to receive credit for prior learning and life experience. Students entering the program may submit a portfolio for review to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Required General Education

The Regents Bachelor of Arts degree requires students to take a minimum of 36 hours of general studies course work.  The general studies requirements include courses in the following:

Six hours of Communications
Six hours of Humanities
Three hours of Natural or Physical Sciences
Six hours of Social Sciences
Three hours of Mathematical Sciences or Computer Applications

An additional 3 credit hours must be taken in one of the following areas: Natural or Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences or Computer Applications.
