FINA 3390 Life and Health Insurance

This course will cover Life and health insurance including group coverage, annuities, disability insurance, dental, cafeteria, and retirement plans, as well as social insurance such as medicare, medicaid, and social security. Financial concepts, underwriting, pricing and analytical techniques applicable to these types of insurance products will also be included. Topics will include: life, health, disability, social insurances and annuities and how they are developed and used by individuals and businesses to reduce risks and improve productivity. The tax efficient use of these products is also covered.

Prerequisite

All students pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, or Bachelor of Science in Materials Management and Logistics from VCoBE, must apply for and be admitted to VCoBE before they are allowed to enroll in the Advanced Business Core and Major coursework for their degree.
