SOCI 334 Population and Environmental Issues
An introduction to the issues, both national and global, that relate to population trends, policies, and the environment. Students should leave this course with a basic understanding of demographic methods and techniques; familiarization with the three components of population studies: fertility, mortality and migration; a general knowledge of population policy issues, and a heightened awareness of the interactions between the environment and human society. Emphasis will be placed on the Christian perspective of population and environmental issues as well as the role of the church in population and environmental solutions. Meets QuEST/General Education Science, Technology, and the World requirement.
