MTH 1215 Excursions in Mathematics
This course is designed to expose students to a variety of modern mathematical ideas and to develop mathematical problem-solving skills. It is intended for students with interests in the liberal arts and social sciences. Topics covered include the mathematics of Elections, Apportionment, Getting Around, Touring, Networks, Population Growth, Symmetry, Fractal Geometry, Fibonacci Numbers, The Golden Rule, Graphs, Probabilities, Odds, and Expectations. 3 Cr.
