PSYC 2130 APA Writing Style
This course is designed for writers new to APA Style, which is the writing standard for psychology, education, criminology, sociology, and other social-science disciplines. The student will learn the basics of the current edition APA Style manual, draft research papers, locate scholarly research, and develop experiments on which to report. Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 1010. (1 lect.)

Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Identify basic elements of an APA Style paper.
2. Compose a paper that is logical and organized, and that generates interest in the topic.
3. Demonstrate APA mechanics of style with writing that conforms to conventions of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
4. Use wording that is concise, precise, and free from bias.
5. Format in-text citations, reference list, tables and figures, and other paper elements consistent with APA guidelines.
6. Identify the funnel approach and other methods to locate relevant and reliable sources.
