Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Demonstrate, identify, and explain safe working procedures.
2. Identify and explain electrical hazards and safety issues in the workplace.
3. Identify and demonstrate methods of hand bending and installing conduit.
4. Identify, explain the use of, and install threaded fasteners, non-threaded fasteners, and anchors.
5. Define, explain, and apply basic electrical theory including: atoms, voltage, conductors, insulators, current, resistance, Ohm’s law, units of measurement, electrical meters, the power formula, characteristics of different types of circuits, and Kirchoff’s Laws.
6. Explain the operation of, describe, and demonstrate the proper usage of various types of electrical test equipment.
Instructor(s) for this course must be approved by the State of Wyoming, Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety Office.
Students will be assessed through module exams and in-class performance tests.
