Biology: Biological Research (B.S.)

The major in biological research leading to a BS in Biology is designed to prepare the undergraduate student with the skills and knowledge necessary to seek immediate employment within the biomedical research industry. Most courses include a strong lab-based, hands-on component with brief presentations of underlying mechanisms and other pertinent content. Other curricula within the biomedical sciences are designed to prepare students for continuing education in graduate or professional programs; this curriculum gives students the opportunity to enter the workforce immediately as a research technician or lab manager within the biomedical sciences.
