A general introduction to global, national, and regional tourism history and development, the economics of tourism, and the many types of businesses and government entities which exist to serve people's traveling, recreational, and entertainment needs. The relationships between these entities and the successful planning and delivery of events such as conventions, sporting events, fundraisers, weddings, and festivals will also be explored.
