Program of Study - Online Instructional Designer Certificate - Accelerated Online Program
Overview
The Online Instructional Designer Certificate is a fully Web-based, graduate-level, non-degree program in the area of instructional design with an emphasis on designing instructional solutions for online delivery. Graduates of this program will be able to apply proven instructional systems design principles and practices to systematically design and develop effective online instruction. They will be able to design, develop, and facilitate high quality and engaging online instruction in their courses or work as online instructional designers in K-12, higher education, and corporate settings. All of the courses from this graduate certificate program are fully transferable into the Master of Education in Educational Technology.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the E-learning graduate certificate, prospective candidates must meet all requirements for graduate admission to UT Rio Grande Valley, as well as the other requirements listed below:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a recognized international equivalent in a similar or related field.

Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 semester credit hours. If applicant does not meet the minimum undergraduate GPA criterion of 3.0, GRE general test with minimum scores of 150 Verbal, 141 Quantitative, and 4.0 Analytical are required for conditional admission

NOTE: Students admitted only to a certificate program are not eligible to obtain a student visa from UTRGV.
