PSYC 8362 Integrated Behavioral Health Care

This course reviews the history, theory and science of integrated behavioral health care (IBHC) with a special of focus on the application of IBHC to Hispanic individuals. The course also covers research on health disparities and reviews behavioral and cognitive theories and interventions as they relate to IBHC. The course will provide knowledge-based competencies in IBHC including the interdependence of mental and physical health; the organizational structure of health care environments; and evidence-based interventions for health problems common in primary care settings. This course will help prepare students to work in an IBHC setting.
