IPCP 6321 Community-based Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

This course will prepare students in graduate health professions, medical students and graduate students in other disciplines to work in community-based inter-professional health care teams. Students will learn about conducting community needs assessments, implications of diversity, social determinants of health, effective strategies for working with community partners and interprofessional collaborative teamwork. Students will learn the theoretical and clinical underpinnings of interprofessional collaborative practice within the patient-centered care model, and on developing the core competencies and skills essential to effective interprofessional teamwork, Students will work in interprofessional teams on community health projects.
