ENV 240L Environmental Toxicology Laboratory

The goal of this laboratory is to introduce students to basic principles of toxicology and the ways in which these principles are applied to environmental problems. Basic concepts to be covered include chemical and physical agents, fate and transport of xenobiotics in the environment, mechanisms by which xenobiotics interact with the biosphere, dose-response relationships, toxicity testing, pharmacokinetics and metabolism of xenobiotics, adverse effects associated with exposures, and risk assessment.
