The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with an area of study in Nuclear Medicine Technology is limited to licensed, registered nuclear medicine technologists. The program enables mid-career adults in a wide range of applied fields meet their educational and professional needs while completing a baccalaureate degree. A total of 18 area of study credits must be from 3000/4000-level courses. The degree is a 120-credit program.

NOTE:

How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study:

  • Certification: ARRT Nuclear Medicine Technologist ARRT- RT N or NMTCB-CNMT or NJ-LNMT copy of original certificate and current renewal card.
  • The certification covers almost all of the credits required in the area of study. A second certification radiography, radiation therapy, or radiation protection would complete the area of study.
  • Nuclear medicine courses are not available at the University; they come from above certifications and transfers.
  • A total of 18 area of study credits must be from courses at the 3000 level or above.

Courses listed in the area of study are offered as a guide. Other courses may also be considered appropriate for the program. The inclusion of similar courses must be reviewed by the evaluation team. Students must submit their program plan for review to ensure that course selection is appropriate for the degree.
