SEED-386 SEED Legal Clinic
Students participate in a semester long hands-on clinical experience focused directly on real world client projects in a variety of industries and working with clients at various business stages. The course is run like the student is working for a consulting firm with the objective for law clinic students of helping the clients mitigate risk. While student Team Leaders from the consulting clinic will be responsible for managing the student client team and project, the students from the law clinic will learn to identify legal issues and assess when it is in the client’s best interests to seek the advice of counsel. The law clinic students will act as liaisons between the client and the legal resources available to SEED clients. The law clinic will comprise substantive lectures and interactive exercises devised to enable students to identify and research legal issues typically present in the client’s industry as well those faced by the specific client. Faculty Clinic Directors and Team advisors will guide students through this intensive project where students are expected to rely on knowledge and skills they have learned within their academic program and work experience.
