SOCI 103 Crime, Justice and Society

An introduction to the major themes and perspectives within the sociology of crime and deviant behavior and the evolution of criminology as a discipline within the social sciences. Explores cultural perceptions of criminality, crime statistics and research, classic and contemporary theory on the causes of crime, types of criminality and deviance, and society's response to crime through the criminal justice system. Meets QuEST/General Education Social Sciences requirement.
