POLI 222 Politics in Latin America

This course will examine the interdependent relations of various factors (political, social, historical, cultural, and economic) both internal and external to the political system in Latin American states. Students will develop an appreciation of the nature of cross-national/cultural analysis, as well as an understanding of the impact of global policies on Latin American states. The culmination of this course will result in the acquisition of analytical skills to explain patterns of political stability and political change within nation-states and regions of this area. Meets QuEST/General Education Non-Western Studies requirement.
