HIST 355 U.S. Urban History

An examination of the process by which America moved from a society characterized by small farms and villages to one dominated by large cities and sprawling suburbs. Themes include the effects of technology and planning on city-building and the effects of the urban form on race, ethnic, and gender relations. Meets General Education Pluralism in Contemporary Society requirement.
