HDFS 101 Foundations of Marriage & Family

Healthy families are critical to personal and social vitality. This course provides foundational knowledge about family dynamics, guided by Christian, multicultural, historical, contemporary, and strength-based perspectives. The course provides an overview of the family science discipline including topics such as: family theories, marriage and parenting, individual and family development, gender and sexuality, family communication and stress, and family traditions and folklore. The course equips those beginning the Human Development and Family Science major as well as those wanting to gain a more robust understanding of families, including one's own. Meets QuEST social science requirement.
