ESS 201 Earth and Space Science
This course provides a broad introduction to the six content areas of basic scientific principles of Earth and Space Science: tectonics and internal Earth processes, Earth materials and surface processes, history of the Earth and its life forms, Earth's atmosphere and hydrosphere, and astronomy. Conceptual learning of processes, 'how we know,' are emphasized. The basic principles of biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics as they relate to the interactions among the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere are emphasized in the course. Two lectures and three hours of laboratory each week. Meets QuEST/General Education Laboratory Science requirement. Lab Fee: $65.
