BIOL 418 Immunology

Introduction to the immune system with emphasis on the host's interaction with an environment which contains many potentially harmful microbes. Control and specificity of the adaptive immune system are illustrated by studying structure and function of antibodies and T cell receptors, development of immune cells, response to immunization, allergy, autoimmunity, graft rejection and immunity to tumors. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week. BIOL 381 or BIOL 382 highly recommended. Lab Fee: $65.
