BIOL 162 Plant Form and Function

Students will develop an understanding of the diversity of plants and their natural histories as they relate to their respective form and function. Topics of study will include diversity, anatomy, physiology, reproduction, and ecology with specific reference to economically and medicinally important plant groups. The distribution of major plant communities with global climate patterns and plant roles in critical biogeochemical cycles will be studied. Two hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week. Although this course meets QuEST/General Education Laboratory Science requirement for all majors, it is required for Biology majors and is taught at a level appropriate for science majors. Course fee $115.
