International Business (B.S.)

Program Overview

This major is designed to prepare students to work in the global marketplace. Integrating both vocation and ministry, the major provides a wealth of opportunities that combine business and missions. In addition to on-campus courses, students in this major attend the International Business Institute, a ten-week study/travel program in Europe, Russia, China, and India. This summer program is complemented by a required experience in a developing country.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates from Messiah’s International Business program can:

  1. Apply foundational content related the Common Professional Component.
  2. Apply marketing concepts, strategies and tactics.
  3. Develop a comprehensive corporate financial analysis report.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the Business as Mission (BAM) movement and formulate an idea for a BAM company as well as a business plan.
  5. Articulate their awareness of their self-identity and vocational calling.
  6. Articulate the importance of Christian principles, ethics, personal and company values, and socially responsible business practices.
