NURS 723 Advanced Family Nursing Practice of Older Adults

This theory course focuses on the family nurse practitioner role in providing primary care to older adults. Key points include health promotion, disease prevention, early detection and management of common acute and chronic health care problems of older adults in primary health care settings. Emphasis is placed on maintenance of function and promotion of self-care in older adults. Effective use of community and family resources and discussion of ethical dilemmas are integrated throughout the course.
