Library
The Mercy College of Ohio Library supports the needs of students and faculty by promoting information literacy, providing access to knowledge-based information, and assisting with evidence-based searching.
The website is available 24-hours a day from any computer, tablet, and mobile device with access to the internet. A proxy enables offsite access to library resources. A library account number is provided to new students the first week of the semester; this account number is used to log in to the website and check-out materials.
The library and the print collection are located on the first floor of the Madison Building. Eight computers are maintained for access to the internet, electronic resources, email, and software programs. Students in Youngstown have additional access to the Mercy St. Elizabeth Medical Library.
- The library collection supports educational programs in nursing, medicine, allied health, radiologic sciences, healthcare administration, ethics, population health, religion, and faculty development.
- A variety of materials is available including print and electronic books, journals, and audiovisual materials.
- Staff provides research assistance, library instruction, inter-library loans, and online reference. Students can contact the library by phone, email, chat, and text.
- Through its membership in the Ohio Private Academic Libraries (OPAL), the library is a member of OhioLINK. This membership offers access to over 100 research databases, 200,000 ebooks, millions of electronic journal articles, audiovisual materials, and library collections throughout Ohio.
