PSY2460 Skills for Psychological Professionals
This course offers students an introduction to the skills necessary for psychological professionals in a variety of settings. In this course, students will learn the knowledge and theory of psychological practices. Interest in how people think and behave will be explored and research skills will be introduced. Students will learn basic communication skills for professionals, working as an integrative treatment team, effective listening and questioning skills, and problem-solving skills. Basic ethical principles and standards in multicultural settings will be emphasized. Skills will be practiced during lab hours that will take place in person or virtually.
