ENV1000 Introduction to Enviromental Science
This course will introduce students to key environmental science concepts, theories, and practices. Students will explore the interdisciplinary field of study using the scientific method and build their information and scientific literacy skills. The course will examine themes of ecology, biodiversity, human populations and human resource use, water resources, food resources, climate change, air and water pollution, and conventional and alternative energy production and use. Students will analyze the role of humans in the global environment in terms of both environmental problems and solutions. The laboratory component will focus on the scientific method, data analysis, and critical thinking to solve environmental problems.
