Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Demonstrate a working understanding of creative dramatics tools which may include puppetry, story-telling, mime, and acting
2. Develop and explore materials, resources, and current research in the area of creative dramatics
3. Demonstrate skills which will enable them to integrate drama with a variety of content areas including the expression of culture and diversity
4. Demonstrate strategies needed to allow students to explore and express their own interpretations of literature including creating, performing and evaluating creative drama teaching techniques and approaches
5. Research and identify current resources in the field of creative drama and communication and their contributions to society and culture
6. Plan and implement a project in creative dramatics in connection with the Wyoming Fine and Performing Arts Standards
7. Demonstrate dramatic improvisational leadership and facilitation skills including giving direction, presenting stories and leading discussions
8. Describe the elements of visual art and the principles of acting and how they apply to creative drama
9. Demonstrate and explain the contributions of dramatic arts as a teaching tool
