FILM 2380 Cinema History

This course is designed to enhance the student's understanding, appreciation, and critical perceptions of cinema as an art form and cultural force. An historical survey approach is used to trace the artistic and technical development of cinema from its origins to today. Significant world films representing key historical periods, styles and national movements will be screened in class and analyzed within their historical and cultural contexts. A student earning credit in this course may not earn credit in COMM 2380. (3 lect.) HUM
