TTD 1500 CDL Heavy Truck/Tractor/Trailer Driving

The course is designed for students with minimum or no previous driving experience in heavy truck or tractor/trailer combinations. Students will receive 100 hours of lecture and classroom exercises in basic truck driving knowledge and skills, Department of Transportation (DOT) Rules and Regulations, maintaining a logbook, trip planning, CDL test preparation, etc. In addition, students will receive 20 hours of individualized behind the wheel heavy truck tractor/trailer driving instruction. Students considering enrolling in this course must have a commercial driving permit, must pass drug-screening tests, and must possess the physical abilities necessary for the truck driving industry. Before enrolling in this course, students must be approved by the CWC Department of Workforce and Community Education. Completion standards are determined by the Wyoming Contractors Association and students must pass the CDL-A test in order to earn a completion certificate. Training requirements are set forth in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation for entry-level driver training in accordance with 49 CFR 380 503. (2 lect., 6 lab)
