SLP 503 Clinical Speech Anatomy, Physiology, and Motor Control

Exploration of structural and functional components of the anatomical system pertaining to
the speech mechanism, including oral, pharyngeal, and laryngeal structures, as well as the
respiratory system. The theories of motor control and learning will be discussed with regard
to speech production and feeding/swallowing. Additional topics such as malformations and
occlusions will be discussed through case studies and applied during critical thinking
exercises.
