THE 454 Playing Shakespeare
Course Description: This course is an intensive study of Shakespeare's dramatic works from the point of view of the actor, focusing on Shakespeare's verse dramas using the Royal Shakespeare Company’s approach, established by John Barton. Through text analysis, scene study, vocal work, and acting exercises, the student will unlock the power behind the poetry by learning skills that will help with scansion, phrasing, word emphasis, antithesis, and imagery.
