MEDI 9332 Public Health

This 4-week elective will focus on the practice of public health through direct experience in a regional office of the Texas Department of State Health Services. Students will select areas for engagement, such as: birth defects monitoring, TB control, HIV-STD program, immunizations, environmental monitoring, food safety, pandemic preparedness, and zoonosis control. Students will participate at various sites in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and travel is required.
