HIST 3331 History of American Religious Traditions

This course traces the diversity of religious traditions in North America from the colonial era to the present. Specific topics will include Native American religions, immigrant religious traditions, new and syncretic traditions in the United States, American secularization, and political and constitutional issues relating to religions. Emphasis will be on the history of religious development and not on specific theologies.
