EPSY 6365 ABA 5: Identification of the Problem, Behavior Assessment, Intervention and
Behavior Change Considerations
This course is the fifth of six courses designed to meet the requirements of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) approved course sequence. The content of this course comes from the BACB Fourth Edition Task List, Section I (Basic Behavior-Analytic Skills), subsection C (Behavior-Change Considerations) and Section II (Client-Centered Responsibilities), subsection G (Identification of the Problem) and subsection I (Assessment). The presentation of the content of this course is designed to provide advanced knowledge and skills of how to identify problem behavior, collect data, analyze and manipulate variables, and make recommendations for behavior that must be established, maintained, increased or decreased. Additionally, this course addresses planning for possible unwanted effects of interventions. Assignments in this course provide opportunities for students to demonstrate skills as well as to critically evaluate various intervention procedures and identify opportunities to promote generalization and maintenance of treatment outcomes.
