Students with Disabilities

Thomas Edison State University complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA,1990; ADAA, 2008) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

When requesting an academic accommodation, it is the student’s responsibility to utilize the TESU Public Academic Accommodation(s) Request (hyperlink) to disclose and verify their disability to the ADA Coordinator within the Office of Student Accessibility Services (hyperlink). Student disclosures are confidential. An academic accommodation under the ADA for a given term must be approved prior to the start date of the respective term.

Students requesting information pertaining to an academic accommodation must first complete the TESU Academic Accommodation(s) Request (hyperlink) including submission of the required documentation of their stated disability as it pertains to the academic setting. Students requesting a phone call must include their: availability Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM; University ID#; phone number. Students will receive an email stating the day and time they will receive a call from the Office of Student Accessibility Services. All calls must be scheduled to ensure appropriate time and attention is provided to each student.  Note: Academic accommodation(s) must be approved prior to the start of the term; academic accommodations are not applied retroactively.
