MSS0215 History and Standards of Massage Therapy (CCP)
This course provides an overview of the history and development of massage therapy, along with an introduction to the legal and ethical standards governing the profession. Students will examine the Florida Massage Practice Act, the rules of the Florida Board of Massage Therapy and basic legal concepts related to healthcare employment. Emphasis is placed on understanding professional ethics, statutory requirements and regulatory guidelines necessary for safe, ethical and lawful practice as a massage therapist in the state of Florida.
