SOAN 212 Cultural Anthropology

Holistic, comparative approach to the study of humankind that draws on a variety of disciplines such as archeology, linguistics, and ethnology to understand the nature of culture. Topics include cultural diversity and adaptive strategies, language, personality, marriage and kinship, religious beliefs and rituals, politics, economics, art, types of groups, social change, and issues of culture contact and cultural survival. Meets QuEST/General Education Non-Western Studies requirement.
