NURS 311 Nursing Care of Adults and Older Adults I

The focus of this clinical nursing course is the client system composed of adults and older adults, in the context of families, experiencing stressors that threaten system stability. Physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental and spiritual variables are incorporated in the nursing process. Intervention strategies focus on primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention. Clinical learning experiences may occur in medical-surgical inpatient settings as well as various community settings and emphasize the provider of care role and introduce the designer/manager/coordinator of care role.
